Not complete, yet, obviously. We'll get there.

We have used the MIT texts as the basis for ours. These, in turn, were based on the Complete Moby texts of the early 1990's.

We make no claims to be editors. The guys at Internet Shakespeare Editions are doing an absolutely fantastic job of serving up plays as internet editions, taking real advantage of all that is offered by large modern hypertext databases. They have completed six editions and are aiming to complete the set.

We've included them here mainly to allow you to search through them with our own search engine. That's why we've chosen texts with straightforward layout and modern spelling.

Each play has a preface which contains the current chronology summary from Wikipedia. Usually accompanied by some of our own thoughts. If visitors make use of the texts, we'll improve them and link searches to lines and include Act and Scene indexes.
